A poem for Jesus

I’m not a poet. Poetry scares me because it’s deep.

But I wrote one a few days ago during my prayer time. I’m not quite sure where it came from or how it came about, but it felt right because it just flowed. So I thought I’d better record it so I don’t forget. It felt like the Spirit was speaking to me because it felt so RIGHT.

Jesus.

You've always been there,

As my groom, my spouse, my mate.

But all I've ever known,

For years since I was born,

Was the love of a father,

Mirrored by my own.

I thought you were strict,

A stickler for the rules.

You'd be heavy-handed,

If I didn't do as I should.

I thought we could never talk,

Of feelings and thoughts,

Because you'd be so occupied,

Running the universe and have no time.

But now that I've grown to know You better,

And realized that my assumption was none the wiser,

You're my groom, my spouse, my mate, and my partner,

I long for you.

Jesus, oh how I long for you.

I desire You,

I want to be one with You,

I want to feel Your body and spirit joined with mine,

In physical, mental, emotional and spiritual unity.

In the depths of my soul,

I want to be one with You.

Fill me Jesus. Come in me.

Fill me God. Come in me.

Fill me Holy Spirit. Come join me.

Love me, Jesus.

Love me, God.

Love me, Holy Spirit.

I crave You,

I desire You,

I want You,

All of You.

Fill me with You, Yhwh.
